CarPro's 5" pad range as selectable variants — Wool, Flash, Ultra and Orange, spanning extreme cut down to medium polishing.

Correction is a pad decision before it's a compound decision. The pad sets the ceiling. The same compound behaves completely differently across these four, which is why detailers carry the range rather than hunting for one pad that does everything. Wool is the extreme-cut option — stitched merino lambswool with no foam interlayer, for heavy defect removal on hard clear. Flash is CarPro's intense foam cutter: reticulated polyurethane at 73 PPI, rated 8/8 for cut, designed around 8 to 10 second spot repairs and capable of more correction on a DA than a typical rotary setup, without leaving holograms. Ultra sits between Flash and Orange — 90 PPI open-cell foam with a funnel structure that pulls heat out, clearing 1500 to 2000 grit sanding marks with the right compound. Orange is the medium polishing pad and the most versatile of the four, with an elastomeric interlayer that absorbs vibration before it reaches the paint.

Wool — Extreme Cut Stitched merino lambswool with no foam interlayer. Direct control, aggressive correction, and a better finish than traditional wool pads.

Flash — Intense Cut Reticulated polyurethane foam at 73 PPI, rated 8/8 cut. Instant spot defect removal without holograms, and roughly twice the lifespan of typical pads.

Ultra — Heavy Polishing 90 PPI open-cell foam with funnel airflow for cooler running and longer working time. Removes 1500–2000 grit sanding marks.

Orange — Medium Polishing Open-cell foam with a dense elastomeric interlayer that dampens vibration and holds even pressure across curves and body lines.

## 🛠️ How to Use

**Centre the Pad** Fasten the pad to your backing plate and check it's securely centred. An off-centre pad causes vibration, uneven cut and premature wear.

**Test, Then Commit** Start with the least aggressive pad that could clear the defect and test a small section. Step up only if the result falls short.

**Clean Between Sections** Keep the pad moving and never hold it still. Clear it with a foam pad brush after each section before adding fresh product.

Cut varies significantly with machine, speed, pressure, compound and paint hardness, so these ratings are relative guides rather than fixed values. Always test your pad and compound combination on a small area before committing to a panel, and assess paint thickness before heavy correction on thin or previously polished panels.
