Primer is the one people underestimate. It lays SiO₂ into the paint. Most finishing polishes just refine and get wiped off. Primer refines at 5/10 cut and 10/10 gloss, then leaves a base layer of silica bonded to the surface — which is what the coating you apply next bonds into, giving a stronger, longer-lasting attachment than bare clear coat would. It also solves the stage detailers quietly dread: the final wipe-down. Because Primer leaves the surface slick and requires no product removal, the pre-coating wipe stops being a marring risk on soft or dark paint, and if you leave it 24 hours you can coat directly without a prep wipe at all. ## 🛠️ How to Use

**Cut with Compound+** Work section by section at reduced speed and temperature — the water base prefers it. Inspect for holograms before moving on.

**Finish with Primer** Switch to a clean soft pad. Spread at low revs, work at medium revs until fully diminished, then wipe off with a high-quality microfibre.

**Coat** Wipe with Q²M Prep after at least 15 minutes to coat the same day — or leave Primer 24 hours and apply your coating directly, no prep wipe needed.

Primer is an ultra-light finish at 5/10 cut, so on harder or darker paint you may want Q²M Polish between the two stages rather than relying on Primer alone. Always test your pad and compound combination on a small area first, assess paint thickness before heavy correction, work in the shade on cool panels, and refer to the manufacturer's label for current guidance.
