# The Cushion Between Your Plate and Your Pad.

The ShineMate 5" Interface Cushion Pad is a 10mm foam spacer with hook & loop on both sides that sits between your backing plate and polishing pad — adding flex, conformity, and control for curved panels and finishing work.

Not every panel is flat. Bumpers curve, fenders roll, and body lines create transitions a rigid backing plate can't follow evenly. That's where an interface pad earns its place. Sandwich it between the plate and the pad and you get 10mm of extra cushion that follows contours instead of bridging over them — distributing pressure more evenly, reducing cut aggressiveness, and giving you finer control during finishing stages or when working thin-profile pads like microfiber discs.

Better Contour Conformity The 10mm cushion layer lets your pad wrap around curved panels, bumpers, and body lines instead of making contact only at the high points. More even pressure means more even results.

Reduces Cut Aggressiveness Adding the interface pad softens the pad-to-paint contact. Useful when your cutting pad is too aggressive for a section but you don't want to swap pads — the cushion layer dials it back.

Ventilated — 44 Holes Perforated with 44 holes that align with ventilated backing plates to maintain airflow, dissipate heat, and extract dust. Keeps pad temperatures in check during extended sessions.

Hook & Loop Both Sides Attaches to your existing backing plate on one side, your polishing pad attaches to the other. Works with foam pads, microfiber pads, wool pads, and sanding discs on any 5" DA or rotary setup.
