The ShineMate 5" FlexEdge Rotary Backing Plate is a PUR-moulded, M14-threaded backing plate with a velcro face — designed specifically for rotary polishers where balance, vibration control, and edge flex make the difference between clean correction and burned paint.

Rotaries don't forgive the way a DA does. A rigid backing plate on a rotary concentrates heat at the edges and fights you on curves. ShineMate's FlexEdge design solves this — the flexible outer edge conforms to contours while the centre stays flat and uniform, giving you aggressive cutting ability without losing control on body lines, bumpers, and transitions. The PUR foam body absorbs vibration and won't permanently deform, even under the sustained pressure of heavy rotary correction work.

Long-Life Velcro Face Moulded directly into the urethane body for a permanent, flat surface. Holds foam, wool, and microfiber pads securely under rotary load and releases them cleanly when you swap.

M14 Thread Standard M14 thread fits ShineMate rotary polishers and most M14-threaded rotary machines. This is the EU-spec thread — not the same as 5/8"x11 found on some North American rotaries. Check your spindle thread before ordering.

This is a rotary-specific backing plate — not designed for dual-action polishers (which use a different thread and mounting system). Confirm your polisher uses an M14 thread before purchasing.
