RUPES XC-2 Xtra Cut Compound is a water-based, extra-aggressive cutting compound universally compatible with all machine types — developed specifically for rapid defect removal from gelcoat, high-solid industrial finishes, hard paint, countertops, and aviation surfaces where standard automotive compounds lack the necessary cut.

XC-2 exists for the surfaces that standard compounds cannot address aggressively enough. Its extra-cut formula tackles 1,000–1,200 grit sanding scratches, heavy oxidation, and deep contamination on hard, high-solid surfaces where standard automotive compounds are too mild to be effective. Water-based and low-dusting, with improved clarity and finish quality over the previous XC-1 formula — and universally compatible across rotary, DA, gear-driven, and triple-action polishers without reformulation. For standard automotive clear coat — where XC-2 may be too aggressive — the RUPES D-A Coarse or Rotary Coarse compounds are the appropriate choice.

XC-2 is an extra-aggressive compound formulated primarily for gelcoat, marine, industrial, and aviation surfaces — it may be too coarse for most standard automotive clear coat finishes. For conventional car paint correction, RUPES D-A Coarse or Rotary Coarse compounds are the more appropriate choice. Always follow with a RUPES finishing polish on darker surfaces to remove remaining swirl marks before applying any protective product.
