Most people dress their mats with tyre shine. Then their foot slips off the pedal. Standard dressings leave a greasy, slick film, which is fine on a sidewall and genuinely dangerous under a driver's heel. That's the whole reason this kit specifies Gold Class Luxury Matte Non-Slick Finish: it delivers UV protection against the fading and chalking that sun through a windscreen causes, and it dries to the touch with a natural matte look rather than a wet shine. The cleaning stage is handled properly too. Foaming Floor Mat & Carpet Cleaner clings and lifts the embedded dirt, grease and road grime out of the tread channels, and the 4" drill brush drives that agitation deep into the ribs and recesses where a hand brush skims the tops and leaves the valleys dirty.

What's in the Kit

A drill is required and not supplied. Clean mats out of the vehicle and let them dry fully before applying the protectant and refitting — a damp mat trapped against carpet causes odour and mould. Keep the drill on low speed, allow the protectant to dry to the touch before driving, and never apply a standard glossy dressing to pedal-area mats.
