People credit the bottle and the brass. It's the mesh doing the work. Foam density comes from forcing the shampoo and water mixture through fine screens that break it into tiny, uniform bubbles — small bubbles have far more surface area than large ones, which is why properly made foam clings to a vertical panel instead of running off it. That makes the mesh a consumable. Dried shampoo and mineral deposits gradually block the screen, and the symptom isn't a dramatic failure but a slow decline: foam that's slightly thinner each wash until one day you're convinced the cannon is worn out. It usually isn't. Swap the mesh and performance comes back. Keeping a set on hand costs very little against replacing a cannon that was never actually broken.
